An interesting blog entry. Well I might as well tell everyone this now.
In early August, my parents found an academy called Gatton Academy of Math and Science. They told me about it and I've been wanting to join it ever since. In the past, I've been teased on Second Life for not getting a good education. Well I can't help that. This school is a poor, independent school. In fact, we are the smallest school in Kentucky participating in the marching band competitions! There's not much opportunity for me at this school. I don't like sports much and we are so poor that we don't have a football team! I'm really smart and my grades are usually A's and B's. The only extra classes that I've had are GT* and band. I also really like math and mostly science. So this school would be great for me.
Ok this entry is probably the biggest one I've typed. Anyway, today, I handed four teachers (English, Science, Band, GT) these papers about the letters of recommendation. None of them have done letters for Gatton. My GT teacher has heard about it before. She was really excited when I showed her the papers. She said I would be perfect for the academy. I've had her as a teacher for at least 7 years. I can't go wrong with the people I picked to write these letters.
My dream job is to be an inventor and part time cartoonist. I've already achieved the cartoonist part. Right as I typed cartoonist, the scroll bar came up. o-o Anyway...Gatton is perfect for me. I am one of the VERY few people that like to learn at school. Oh man...last year's science class...when we were learning about the phases of the moon, I already knew everything that the teacher was telling us and most of my classmates were acting like it was way over their heads. Someone even thought the Earth went around the moon. It was embarrassing. I stick out easily. My grades would actually be higher if the work was a little more challenging. Gatton makes you study for like two hours every school day. And you complete your first two years of college when you graduate from there!
Ok this has been my largest entry ever. Holy cow it took 20 minutes to type! Well if anyone reading this is from Gatton, I might see you in a year!
